When you search for a prescription on GoodRx, we'll sort through a number of prices to find you the best deal. If you see a "with membership" note underneath the price and a blue button that says "MORE INFO," this means the best price for this prescription is through a pharmacy membership program.
What is a pharmacy membership program?
Pharmacy membership programs, or prescription savings clubs, are offered by some pharmacies, either for free or for an annual fee. These programs offer savings on generic medications, pet medications and other medical supplies and devices. To use these programs, customers must sign up for the membership through the listed pharmacy and use this membership when purchasing the prescription.
To find out which drugs and other products are available under a pharmacy's membership program, you can typically download the complete list from the pharmacy's website, or your pharmacist may have a list available.
How do I get this price?
Click on the blue “MORE INFO” button next to the price, and the price row will expand. We'll let you know what the terms of a membership are and provide a link so you can learn more. You will see a blue button that says “GET MEMBERSHIP”. Clicking this button will take you directly to the pharmacy's website.
These listed membership prices are not offered through, or in affiliation with, GoodRx. You will not be able to receive a pharmacy membership price by using a GoodRx discount; we're simply listing the pharmacy’s published prices.
To receive these prices, you must sign up for the pharmacy membership program either through their website or in their store. Some pharmacy programs are free, but you will most likely need to purchase the membership for an annual fee. Once your membership is set up, ask your pharmacist to run your prescription under this program. Please consult your pharmacist for full terms and conditions, as your pharmacy will determine the final price.
What if I have insurance?
You can generally use the pharmacy membership instead of your insurance, but you cannot use them together. Some pharmacy programs prohibit those with Government Sponsored Insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, etc) from participating. Please see your pharmacy for full terms and conditions.
What should I do if the pharmacy does not honor the membership price?
While we try to be as accurate as possible with our cash and membership prices, certain pharmacy generic drug program prices may be higher in certain locations (CA, HI, MN, MT, PA, TN and WI), due to laws within these areas. We list the prices based on the pharmacy’s pricing list, but restrictions can apply, and we always recommend contacting the pharmacy ahead of time to verify the price.
Pharmacies are contractually obligated to honor the GoodRx coupons, while cash and pharmacy membership prices are estimates, as marked.
How do I find the GoodRx coupon price if there is a pharmacy membership price listed?
If you click on the blue “MORE INFO” button, you will see a tab that says "Higher Prices". Click on this tab, and we'll show you the next best available coupon price. Click on the green “GET FREE COUPON” button to print, email or text the coupon to yourself.
