When you search for a prescription on GoodRx, we'll sort through a number of prices to find you the best deal. As a result, we display pharmacy membership prices, cash prices and online retail pharmacy prices.

Membership prices: What does it mean when the price says,"with membership?"

If you see a "with membership" note underneath the price and a blue button that says "LEARN MORE," this means the best price for this prescription is through a pharmacy membership program. Pharmacy membership programs are offered by some pharmacies, either for free or for an annual fee. To use these programs, customers must sign up for the membership through the listed pharmacy and use this membership when purchasing the prescription.

Click on the blue “LEARN MORE” button next to the price, and the price row will expand. We'll let you know what the terms of a membership are and provide a link so you can learn more. You will see a blue button that says “GET MEMBERSHIP”. Clicking this button will take you directly to the pharmacy's website.

Cash Prices: What does it mean when the price says "No Coupon Necessary?" 

When you see the “No Coupon Necessary” note next to a price on GoodRx, this indicates the price displayed is the pharmacy’s cash price (or retail price). This is the price that the pharmacy would charge for a specific prescription if you were to purchase the medication without using any discounts or insurance. To get this price, you do not need to present a card, a coupon or insurance; just go to the listed pharmacy and purchase your prescription!

GoodRx's cash prices are based on multiple sources, including published price lists, purchases, claims records and data provided by pharmacies. Please be aware that cash prices are only estimates and can sometimes change very quickly. While we try to be as accurate as possible and make updates based on recent price increases or decreases, we always recommend checking with your pharmacy before filling your prescription.

Online Retail Pharmacies: What does it mean when the price says “Buy Online?”

If you see an orange "BUY ONLINE" button next to a pharmacy’s name and price, then that pharmacy is a mail-order pharmacy.  To receive the listed price, you will need to order this medication directly from the pharmacy's website. You will not be placing an order through GoodRx; we will simply direct you to the listed pharmacy's website.

Clicking on the orange "BUY ONLINE" button will open a new browser window, and you will be taken to the listed pharmacy’s website where you can place your order. A valid prescription will be required. If you have questions about your order, please contact the pharmacy directly.

We only list licensed U.S. mail-order pharmacies that are accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization that works to ensure the public’s health and safety.

How do I find the GoodRx coupon price if there is a pharmacy membership price, cash price or online retail pharmacy price?

If you click on the “LEARN MORE,” “NO COUPON NECESSARY” or “BUY ONLINE” button, you will see a tab that says "Prices". Here we'll show you the next best available coupon price. Click on the green “GET FREE COUPON” button to print, email or text the coupon to yourself.

What should I do if the pharmacy does not honor a membership or cash price? 

It is important to note, pharmacies are contractually obligated to honor the GoodRx coupons, while cash and pharmacy membership prices are estimates, as marked.
