About Gold Price Protection
What is Gold Price Protection?
-
Gold price protection is a Gold membership feature that aims to protect you against rising prescription prices.
-
As a Gold member, you can “price lock” eligible drugs in the GoodRx app. This means that if you pay a higher price at the pharmacy than the price you initially paid and “locked in” for your prescription, GoodRx will compensate you for the difference in the form of GoodRx Rewards points of the equivalent dollar amount.*
-
Rewards points can be redeemed for gift cards to over 200 popular retailers.
*The pharmacist must use your GoodRx Gold account information in order for GoodRx to register price protection. Do not forget to present your Gold card when paying for your prescription. Gold price protection is only available for Gold members using Gold pricing.

How Gold Price Protection Works
Do I need to be enrolled in GoodRx Rewards to use Gold price protection?

What happens if the price of my prescription drops below the price I locked?
- If the price of your prescription decreases below the locked price, you will pay the lower price, but you will not receive any additional rewards points.

- You must ensure you are using your Gold card at the pharmacy where you used price protection to lock in your prescription price. The pharmacist must use your Gold membership adjudication information when you pick up your prescription (available on your Gold card). Additionally, it is important to ensure the information you enter in the GoodRx app when searching for a low price matches your prescription exactly.
How will I get the price difference back?
- GoodRx will give you the difference between the higher GoodRx price and your protected price via an equivalent dollar amount of GoodRx Rewards points redeemable for gift cards to over 200 popular retailers.
